URSEL Murillo-Laureno has been the co-founder and CEO of EdFolio and SkoolTek, taking solutions in education technology (EdTech) to the next level.<\/p>\n
With a background in
\neducational leadership, she previously served as the principal of Bethany
\nBaptist Academy in Iligan City, Philippines, where she introduced a tablet-based
\ndigital learning program in 2015, setting the stage for her passion for
\ninnovation in education.<\/p>\n
Driven by the
\nchallenges schools faced during the Covid-19 pandemic, Ursel launched EdFolio,
\na marketplace for e-books and educational supplementary materials.<\/p>\n
She later developed
\nSkoolTek, a comprehensive school management system. The platform integrated
\nenrollment, billing, learning management, artificial intelligence facial
\nrecognition, blockchain-based transcript management, a career-predictive-profiling
\nsystem, and other upcoming features, offering a seamless digital ecosystem for
\nschools.<\/p>\n
Under her leadership,
\nEdFolio and SkoolTek have surpassed growth targets and are on track to double their
\nrespective revenues.<\/p>\n
This year, the two
\ncompanies continued to expand in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations
\nregion.<\/p>\n
Just recently, the
\ncompanies got into an investment-linked program run by an EdTech accelerator, based in Singapore.<\/p>\n
Laureno also founded
\nthe National Educational & Technology Conference or EdTek Con 2025, a
\npremiere event that brought together educators as well as industry and
\ngovernment leaders to discuss the future of education in the Philippines.<\/p>\n
A Christian
\nentrepreneur, Laureno credited her success to God\u2019s
\nfaithfulness.<\/p>\n
Having witnessed
\nfirsthand how God\u2019s provision sustained her business through critical moments,
\nshe has made it her mission to bridge technology and education to ensure that
