{"id":22845,"date":"2025-07-11T23:15:00","date_gmt":"2025-07-11T14:15:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/seasiaonline.com\/?p=22845"},"modified":"2025-07-12T00:09:30","modified_gmt":"2025-07-11T15:09:30","slug":"jemena-announces-recipients-of-2025-first-nations-community-grants-program","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/seasiaonline.com\/?p=22845","title":{"rendered":"Jemena Announces Recipients of 2025 First Nations Community Grants Program"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Leading energy infrastructure company, Jemena, is proud to announce the recipients of our 2025 Community Grants Program \u2013 First Nations Stream, supporting Indigenous-led initiatives that deliver meaningful social impact in communities where we operate.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Seven organisations across New South Wales, Queensland and the Northern Territory will each receive $10,000 to deliver programs supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in the areas of education, training and employment.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThese grants reflect our deep commitment to reconciliation and to walking alongside First Nations communities in creating lasting, positive change,\u201d said\u202fCraig Ypinazar, Executive General Manager, People, Safety and Governance, and Chair of Jemena\u2019s Reconciliation Action Plan Steering Committee.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEach of these projects demonstrate the power of community-led solutions and the importance of cultural connection and education.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Warumungu Country \u2013 Tennant Creek, NT\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>World Literacy Foundation\u00a0Literacy workshops for 85 Indigenous young people, in partnership with the local AFL club. Includes resources in Indigenous languages and mobile literacy tools.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Kalkadoon Country \u2013 Mount Isa, Qld\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Campfire Healing Indigenous Corporation\u00a0Business and leadership training for Indigenous-led social enterprises. Our grant helps support logistics and venue hire for sessions.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Dharawal and Darkinjung Countries \u2013 Wollongong and Central Coast, NSW\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Westbourne Cares Indigenous Corporation\u00a0Intensive preparation and cultural mentoring for young Indigenous adults seeking to enter the workforce. Our grant will support 8-10 young people.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Worimi Country \u2013 Port Stephens, NSW\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Jupiter \u2013 Space to Talk\u00a0Our grant will help deliver 60 mental wellbeing consultations for Indigenous youth aged 12\u201325, delivered by culturally safe counsellors.
