\nthe Fire and Rescue Department of Malaysia (JBPM) to establish a Mutual
\nDisaster Relief Team. This strategic collaboration seeks to elevate disaster

The MOU signing ceremony,
\nhosted by UEM Edgenta, was attended by YAS Dato\u2019 Ts. Nor Hisham Mohammad,
\nDirector General of JBPM, Razman Ismail, Chief People Officer of UEM Edgenta
\nand Andrew Raj Varatharaju, Head of Operational Excellence & Health, Safety,
\nSecurity, and Environment (HSSE) at UEM Edgenta. This collaboration reflects a
\nshared commitment to leveraging expertise and resources to enhance disaster
\nmanagement frameworks and deliver impactful, community-focused solutions. The
\nsigning of documents was carried out by YAS Dato\u2019 Ts. Nor Hisham Mohammad and
\nRazman Ismail, symbolizing the formalization of this strategic partnership. The
\nMOU underscores both parties\u2019 dedication to strengthening disaster management
\ninitiatives and promoting community resilience.<\/p>\n

\nthe challenges faced by the fire department are also increasingly complex.
\nTherefore, support and cooperation from all parties, including the private
\nsector, are needed to ensure that we are always prepared to face any emergency

\u201cJBPM sees opportunities
\nthrough this MOU, where the cooperation between JBPM and UEM Edgenta can
\nprovide great benefits and positive impacts in many aspects, especially the
\nimprovement of firefighting operational capabilities through the sharing of
\nexpertise, innovation and implementation of new technologies and joint training
\nprograms,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

The partnership will involve
\nvolunteers from Edgenta Infrastructure Services (EIS) working closely with JBPM
\nto enhance disaster response capabilities. Under this initiative, EIS
\nvolunteers will undergo rigorous training provided by JBPM, equipping them to
\nsupport disaster relief efforts. The programme will focus exclusively on West
\nMalaysia, with volunteers prepared to assist in managing natural disasters in
\nareas where UEM Edgenta operates.<\/p>\n

The MOU highlights several
\ncritical areas, including joint training programmes, workshops, and simulations
\ndesigned to strengthen technical expertise for disaster response. Both
\norganisations will also collaborate on community engagement initiatives, such
\nas awareness campaigns aimed at educating the public on disaster preparedness
\nand emergency protocols. Additionally, the partnership will include the
\norganisation and participation in emergency drills, fire simulations, and
\ntechnical courses related to UEM Edgenta\u2019s operations, with a particular focus
\non rescue efforts during natural disasters and emergencies.<\/p>\n
